Why AI Experts & Designers Are A Dream Team
For the past 2 years, I have been working on the change management and transformation side of AI. I’ve helped various companies bring a customer and employee-centric approach to the adoption of AI.
I have loved the work so far, because I get to learn from skills technologists, and it has made me realise that AI is two-fold and you need two areas of expertise to see real impact from it. On one side you need the technology expertise, and on the other side you need to understand the human element.
It has made me realise that designers and technologists form the perfect partnership to create value-based AI solutions, and not just hype-based experiments.
Why?
Designers focus on:
Desirability through design research.
Feasibility through business design.
Usability through UX and service design.
Implementability through organisation design.
Technologists and AI experts focus on:
Viability through deep knowledge of the tech.
Buildability through development expertise.
Scalability through understanding the current and future possibilities of the tech.
With both areas of expertise, all bases are covered.
